<idAbs>O estabelecimento das Áreas Estratégicas de Gestão (AEGs) no âmbito do Plano da Bacia Hidrográfica Litorânea tem como finalidade orientar e fundamentar a implementação dos instrumentos de gestão da Política Estadual de Recursos Hídricos e atuação do Sistema Estadual de Gerenciamento de Recursos Hídricos. A delimitação das Áreas Estratégicas de Gestão foi realizada a partir de ottobacias de modo a integrar-se facilmente aos demais sistemas de gestão dos recursos hídricos. A partir da união das ottobacias, as AEGs foram então caracterizadas pela homogeneidade de fatores hidrográficos e hidrológicos, e permitem a organização do planejamento e do aproveitamento dos recursos hídricos. Essas passam a corresponder às unidades nas quais serão apresentadas as estratégias de gestão, que são independentes entre si, porém coordenadas dentro de um sistema de gestão de recursos hídricos abrangente para a Bacia. Dado derivado do Plano da Bacia Hidrográfica Litorânea do Paraná a partir de dado de Ottobacias.
